The Arch of Santa Catalina

Located in the heart of Antigua, this iconic structure was built at the beginning of the 17th century. It is one of the most emblematic symbols of Antigua Guatemala, surrounded by charming cobblestone streets, colonial buildings, and vibrant markets.

The arch has witnessed the city’s evolution and endured multiple earthquakes, proving its value as an architectural treasure and a reminder of Guatemala's rich historical heritage.

Originally, the Arch of Santa Catalina was built to connect the Santa Catalina convent with a school across the street, allowing the nuns to cross without leaving the convent grounds.
